

Above is the wall after I removed the wallpaper a few years later. It worked great! But it was a huge mess and took forever to do. The first time I wanted to wallpaper over a textured wall, I sanded the wall to get a smooth surface to adhere the paper to. I’ll go through the textures I recommend wallpapering, the wallpaper that will work best, and tips to ensure your success. But textured walls don’t mean you can’t have wallpaper. Usually, the smoother the wall, the easier the wallpaper will be to install and the better it’ll look.

Cover floor with 12ft by 100ft 4 mil poly.Run 2 inch tape ( intertape) 1 1/2 inch below ceiling line.Press firmly on upper half of tape leaving bottom half lose and open for plastic Run 12 ft by 400 ft by.31 mil poly around room by tacking under 2 inch tape.Unravel plastic along room to make attaching plastic faster. Run 1 1/2 inch ( 3M exterior water proof) tape over (intertape), closer to ceiling leaving about 1/8 inch of wall color exposed.
